A transit is what the sky is doing right now measured against your natal chart. The planets keep moving after you are born; when one of them reaches an angle to a point in your chart — your natal Moon, your Ascendant, your Venus — astrology reads that contact as a theme becoming active for a while.
This is the part daily horoscopes fake. A horoscope column takes today's sky and writes twelve paragraphs, one per sun sign, for everyone born across a whole month. A transit reading takes today's sky and compares it to your chart, so two people born the same day in different years get different answers.
Fast movers and slow movers
The Moon changes sign every two to three days. Moon transits are mood-scale: they colour a day, not a year.
Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars run on weeks-to-months cycles. These are the transits you feel as a phase — a stretch where communication is sharp, or where conflict keeps finding you.
Jupiter and Saturn take about twelve and twenty-nine years respectively to return to where they started. Saturn transits to a personal planet are the classic "period that reorganises something structural".
Uranus, Neptune, Pluto move so slowly that a single contact can last two or three years. These read as long arcs, not days.
Duetto weighs this when it chooses what to show you. A Moon square that lasts six hours does not get the same billing as Saturn crossing your Ascendant.
What Duetto gives you each day
Every day, Duetto computes the current positions, compares them against your natal chart, scores the contacts by tightness and by the weight of the bodies involved, and keeps the three that matter most today. For each one you get what it tends to bring up, what tends to work with it, and what tends to backfire — plus a plain-language read on the overall texture of the day.
You can switch on a daily reminder at an hour you choose, so the transit arrives in the morning with your coffee rather than at midnight. Notifications are opt-in and can be turned off at any time.
How to use a transit reading
- Use it for timing, not for permission. A hard transit is not a reason to avoid the day; it is a hint about where friction is likely to show up, so you can spend attention there.
- Watch the repeats. Slow-planet transits come back two or three times as the planet retrogrades over the same point. The theme returns; the second pass usually reads as unfinished business.
- Notice what you recognise. If a transit description lands with a "yes, that is exactly this week", it is doing its job. If it does not, discard it. Nothing here is a prediction.
